SUN SHINING ON PUBLICIS
By Adnews Staff
The Toronto Sun has named Publicis Canada its new advertising agency. The Toronto daily has been without an agency since last fall when it split with Ammirati Puris. Ammirati had won the account in January after The Sun ended its long-term relationship with Ambrose Carr Linton Carroll. Publicis was awarded the $1 million plus account following a review which shortlisted two additional Sun Media/Quebecor agencies, Bos and Padulo Integrated. Quebecor acquired Sun Media last year. The agency review was part of an effort to consolidate the Sun Media account with an agency that had previously worked with either Quebecor or the Sun. Publicis' first project for the newspaper will be a spring campaign launching within the month.
