VENTURE GROUP SHIFTS POSITION, BUYS TWO FIRMS

Calgary-based communications firm The Venture Group is re-branding itself as Venture Communications and positioning itself as a communications solutions provider. A new logo and slogan will be unveiled within the next two weeks. The firm has also acquired two Ontario companies, Ottawa-based marketing communications company Shoreline Communications Corp. and London-based advertising and marketing communications company Bridge Communications. The two companies will be re-branded Venture Communications. Venture is also opening an office in the Ottawa area for its graphic design division Version 2.0. The firm has also bestowed upon three staff members the newly-created title of "Solutions Architect." Executive creative director Bruce Walker will assume that role in the firm's Calgary office. In Ottawa, former agency principal and creative strategist Martin Charlton will assume the new position. In London, vice-president and account director Stephen Denys will assume the position. A search is currently being conducted for a new creative director for Venture's Calgary office.
