By Adnews Staff
MacLaren McCann's Toronto office is in development mode for the fall launch of Microsoft's Xbox video game console. MacLaren won the account for the Xbox in Canada after contacting the company and making a pitch for it. In the U.S. the launch of the Xbox is being handled by McCann-Erickson Worldwide of New York. The two agencies will work together to develop a North American communications campaign for the Xbox. In Canada MacLaren will provide Microsoft with an integrated campaign for the game machine which will include interactive, direct response, advertising and in-store elements.
MacLaren's west coast office is also is development mode for Vancouver-based Rogers Video. The agency won the Rogers Video business after contacting the company and making a presentation. The win expands the agency's relationship with Rogers. Currently MacLaren is the advertising agency-of-record for Rogers AT&T Wireless and Rogers Cable. MacLaren's Vancouver office will manage the account locally with broader communication services provided by MacLaren's Toronto office. A branding effort including advertising, relationship marketing and interactive campaigns will break this spring, designed to promote the Rogers Video brand and increase video rental sales. Previously the account was handled by Glennie Stamnes Strategy of Vancouver.
