FINANCIAL SERVICES SHOW EXPANDS, ADVERTISES

Financial services consumer show Financial Forum has expanded to two additional cities for 2001 and is promoting itself with a newspaper and radio campaign. The shows are aimed at consumers with average household incomes of $60,000 who want to learn about savings and investment opportunities. Almost 200 firms will exhibit at the shows, including banks, trust companies, insurance firms, stock brokerages, exchanges, government agencies, real estate brokers, mutual funds, dealers in precious metals, art and stamps, offshore investment companies, tax shelters, and others. The shows take place in Ottawa on January 19 to 21, Toronto on January 25 to 28, Calgary on February 2 to 4 and Vancouver on February 9 to 11. The Calgary and Ottawa shows are new this year. Each show is being promoted with ads and programs inserted in local newspapers the week before it takes place, along with radio spots on four stations in each market. The Toronto show will be promoted with ads in The Globe and Mail and National Post newspapers as well as Investor's Digest magazine. Financial Forum is a division of Macgregor Communications of Markham, ON. Public relations for Macgregor are handled by Michael Communications of Toronto.
