O&M WINS ROGERS ASSIGNMENT

Oglivy & Mather of Toronto has unwrapped a Web site launch assignment from the media unit of Toronto-based Rogers Communications. Jan Innes, vice president of communications for Rogers, confirmed O&M won the job over Toronto shops Young & Rubicam and Rogers' agency-of-record MacLaren McCann, which is currently focusing on Rogers wireless, cable and high-speed Internet businesses, she said. The Web site, called Springboard.ca, will be aimed at women and is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2001. Less than a month ago, Rogers awarded a consulting assignment for a portion of its Rogers AT&T Wireless business to former agency Gee, Jeffrey & Partners of Toronto.
