NEWAD CELEBRATES FIVE YEARS IN WASHROOMS AND FITNESS CLUBS
By Adnews Staff
NewAd has spent the last five years building a company in the washrooms of restaurants and bars across the country and this Thursday will hold a series of parties and events to celebrate. The Toronto-based media company is celebrating its five year anniversary with celebrations planned in the Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Halifax markets. Founded in 1995 by Patrick St-Arnaud and Michael Reha when the two began selling advertising space in washrooms, NewAd has grown into a network that not only covers restaurants and bars but colleges and university campuses and fitness clubs. To celebrate its fifth anniversary, the company will host a series of parties for employees, clients, suppliers and supporters. In addition, NewAd is highlighting its anniversary with prints ads in urban weeklies and trade magazines as well as posters through its network which targets the 18 to 34 year-old market. The creative for the consumer component of the campaign reads "This sure beats looking at grout for five years." Ads running in trade magazines read "Not just anyone can spend five years in a washroom and call it a success." Advertising, from The Chrichton Kim-Kirkland Company of Toronto, is being supported with public relations from Manic Inc. of Toronto and Marianik of Montreal.
