OMNI OUTDOOR SCREENING NEW ADS

Montreal-based outdoor advertising company Omni Outdoor recently launched a new concept to its OmniColumn network. The network is comprised of structures throughout the Montreal area that feature a display map of the surrounding area on one side while the other two sides are used for advertising purposes. Omni, working with Montreal advertising agency Tam Tam, created the new advertising concept for client Canal Z. OmniColumn structures were modified to include a 37-inch high-definition plasma screen linked to a DVD player. Speakers located at the bottom allowed advertisers to broadcast not only images but sound as well. Omni marketing director, Nathalie Doré, said although the structures were only temporarily modified for the new advertising concept, Canal Z's campaign concluded last week, the opportunity for additional advertisers to use the plasma screen concept is available. Media strategy for Canal Z was handled by Carat-Stratégem of Montreal. Omni Outdoor is part of the Astral Media group.
