STODDART DIGEST'S NEW PARTNERSHIP

Toronto-based Stoddart Publishing Co. Ltd. and Montreal-based Reader's Digest Association (Canada) Ltd. have announced the formation of a sales, marketing and distribution partnership. Beginning July 1, Stoddart will sell Reader's Digest English titles throughout its retailer network across Canada. Reader's Digest Canada president Bernard Poirier explained the partnership allows Reader's Digest to count on Stoddart's marketing experience in retailing, its larger sales force and its customer service capacity. Reader's Digest will continue publishing books and under the terms of the partnership agreement, develop co-publishing initiatives with Stoddart. The company has had a similar agreement with ADP Agence de distribution populaire for its French language titles for years.
