CANADIAN TIRE CUSTOMERS FILL IT UP
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Canadian Tire Corporation is cashing in on consumer frustration with high gas prices. From March 13 to April 2, with a minimum cash purchase, Canadian Tire is offering customers five times the normal amount of Canadian Tire money received with every fill up. Special promotional coupons and materials, featuring a "Hercules" image, are being distributed at all Canadian Tire gasoline stations across Canada. The image first made its debut in the 1960s when Canadian Tire launched a similar program in a time of high gas prices. In addition, Canadian Tire is reducing the price of gasoline at select Toronto locations by 20 cents a litre. The one-week promotion launched yesterday and runs until Friday. Every morning, between 6am and 9am, a different Canadian Tire gasoline location will drop its price of gas by 20 cents per litre on all grades of gasoline. The locations participating in the price drop will be announced on Toronto radio station Talk 640 and in the Toronto Sun.
