Cathy Baier, previously group media director for PNMD Communication Inc., has been promoted to the position of media director at that firm. In her new role Baier will be responsible for media planning activities undertaken on behalf of PNMD's clients. Baier first joined the Montreal-based agency in April 1997.
BenchMark Porter Novelli is growing following last month's merger of BenchMark Communications and Canada Porter Novelli. The staff of the newly merged agency has expanded with nine new appointments and three promotions. Trevor Campbell joins the consumer technology group as a senior consultant, Gabriel Landriault joins the editorial team as an editorial consultant and Francois Hubert joins the Montreal office as a media relations consultant. Paige Calvert joins the healthcare group as a communications coordinator, Tom Giantsopoulos joins the consumer technology group as a communications coordinator and John Sajur joins the corporate technology group as a communications coordinator. Rounding out the new appointments are Jennifer Stein, who joins the software group as a communications coordinator, Jenna Whelpley, who joins the consumer group as a communications coordinator, and Kristy Bailey, who joins the agency as a communications assistant. Nicola Moore, Selena Rayias and Adrienne Vaughan have each been promoted from communications coordinator to consultant. Moore and Rayias are both part of the consumer group, while Vaughan is part of the corporate technology group.
