Cineplex readies National Popcorn Day promotion

Theatre chain Cineplex is preparing a “National Popcorn Day” promotion that will take place from Jan. 17 to 19. During that weekend, members of the company’s Scene+ loyalty program will receive a free bag of popcorn when they buy a movie ticket. Consumers can also receive free popcorn by playing a food order with DoorDash, Skip or Uber Eats during the weekend. The promotion also includes social media content.
“Every year, we look forward to finding new ways to elevate our annual National Popcorn Day tradition,” said Sara Moore, chief marketing officer at Cineplex. “Popcorn and going to the movies have always been the perfect match. We know how much Canadians love our iconically delicious popcorn so extending National Popcorn Day over the weekend was a great way to celebrate going to the movies.”
