Air Canada releases holiday ad

Air Canada has released a holiday season commercial called “The Pond.” The 90-second ad, developed by FCB, depicts two sisters waiting for a backyard pond to freeze so they can use it to play hockey. One wishes on a shooting star, then an Air Canada plane takes them to visit the North Pole. They return with a bottle of magic liquid that turns their pond into a new skating rink. The ad will run in cinemas, on television and online. Media work is being handled by Initiative and Air Canada Media Desk, which public relations are being conducted by Weber Shandwick.
“We’re proud to weave wonder into our holiday stories, bringing families and friends closer together as part of a cherished tradition for all of us at Air Canada,” said Andy Shibata, brand vice-president at Air Canada. “‘The Pond’ not only reflects our passion for hockey but also our ongoing commitment to championing gender equality in both sports and aviation.”
