Sportsnet begins mobile game promotion

Sportsnet has begun a promotion in support of its Hockey Night in Canada broadcasts. The initiative, which will run until the end of December, features a mobile game developed by Aquimo called the “Sportsnet Slap Shot Showdown.” The game is integrated into broadcasts by way of a QR code displayed on the screen during four Toronto Maple Leafs hockey games. Consumers can win weekly prizes or the grand prize of a Hyundai Kona.
“Our collaboration with Aquimo and the launch of Sportsnet Slap Shot Showdown represents an innovative step forward in how we engage our audience and marketers,” said Anthony Attard, vice-president of sales at Sportsnet. “By incorporating Aquimo’s interactive gaming technology into our broadcasts, we’re not only enhancing the fan experience, but also giving our partners a new and exciting platform to connect with fans in a meaningful and memorable way.”
