Rogers sponsors Charity Classic

Rogers Communications has signed-on as the title sponsor of the PGA Tour Champions golf tournament in Calgary. The event will now be called the Rogers Charity Classic. The tournament was previously sponsored by Shaw, which merged with Rogers last year. As part of its sponsorship, Rogers has donated $1 million to the fundraising event. The charitable fund has been rebranded Rogers Birdies for Kids presented by AltaLink. It provides support services to youths. The tournament will next take place from Aug. 16 to 18.
“This tournament has made a real impact for communities, families and children in Alberta,” said Terrie Tweddle, chief brand and communications officer at Rogers. “We are immensely proud to honour the legacy of the Shaw family with the Rogers Charity Classic and to continue supporting children’s charities across Alberta.”
