Canadian Cancer Society signs Bigras
By Rob Bale
The Canadian Cancer Society has signed a promotional agreement with musician and actor Dan Bigras. He will participate in the organization’s Quebec campaign to destigmatize colorectal cancer. The initiative will run through March, designated National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. It encourages residents over the age of 50 to get screened for the disease every two years.
“I'm getting involved because people shouldn't take any chances with their health,” said Bigras. “They should take the FIT screening because the best treatment for this cancer remains early detection. I was really surprised to learn how easy it is to take the test. There's no reason not to do it.”
