Subway conducts Math Challenge
By Rob Bale
Fast food chain Subway Canada has begun a contest promotion called the “Math Challenge.” The promotion, conducted in association with the National Basketball Association, invites consumers to calculate how many Stampede Brisket sandwiches can fit inside the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. The figure has been determined by a mathematics professor from the University of Waterloo. Consumers can submit their answers via Instagram until Dec. 19. The grand prize winner will receive a two-night trip to Toronto, a $1,000 gift card and two tickets to a Toronto Raptors game at the arena.
“We’re excited to deepen our collaboration with the NBA and the Toronto Raptors for the Math Challenge,” said Dean Harrison, director of sponsorships at Subway Canada. “This year has been all about saying ‘Yesway’ to new flavours, new experiences and more, and we’re excited to close out 2023 by saying yes to a chance to flex our math skills as we cheer on Canada’s only NBA team.”
