ALERT conducts online campaign

Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams is conducting a campaign intended to raise awareness of the risk of online child sexual exploitation. The campaign, developed by DDB Canada, consists of online videos on Snap, Tik Tok and YouTube. The creative is aimed primarily at teenagers and features singing and dancing eggplant and peach emojis. The characters warn viewers not to send sexually explicit photographs of themselves to strangers. The videos direct viewers to a campaign website for additional information. ALERT is a collection of Alberta law enforcement resources focusing on serious and organized crime.
“The threat of sextortion is more prevalent than ever,” said Marc Cochlin, CEO of ALERT. “It’s inside our homes and on our devices. We needed a memorable campaign that connected with kids on a level they would understand.”
