CBC launches comedy streaming channel

CBC/Radio-Canada has launched a new free advertising-supported streaming video channel specializing in comedy programming. Called CBC Comedy, the channel is part of the CBC Gem streaming service. It will also become available on LG Channels, The Roku Channel and Samsung TV Plus later this fall. CBC Gem is available via a mobile applications, the CBCGem.ca website and various smart television devices.
“CBC Comedy is our new go-to destination for the best comedy Canada has to offer, providing free, nonstop access to CBC’s acclaimed library of comedy from authentic original voices, and sketch and stand-up that reflects the times with satire and wit,” said Sally Catto, general manager for entertainment, factual and sports programming at CBC.
