Jameson Irish Whiskey hires Ogilvy
By Derek Winkler
Jameson Irish Whiskey has retained Ogilvy of New York as its global creative agency. The account will be serviced by a “borderless” collection of staff from the agency’s various international offices. The assignment includes global strategic and creative activites for the brand. Ogilvy won the account in a competitive pitch process managed by independent consulting firm R3 and represents an expansion of the agency’s work for alcohol company Pernod Ricard.
“Creatively and strategically, Ogilvy impressed the team over the course of a rigorous pitch process, pairing a global outlook with local cultural relevance in our key markets, and we’re very excited to begin working together,” said Brendan Buckley, global marketing director at Irish Distillers. “I would also like to sincerely thank TBWA globally, and most recently TBWA Dublin, for their valued creative contribution to the Jameson brand over many years.”
