Oreo, Nintendo ready Super Mario promotion

Snack food company Mondelez International is preparing a promotion for its Oreo cookie brand in collaboration with video game company Nintendo. Beginning July 10, the company will release a limited-edition Super Mario-themed Oreo and begin an online promotion at <> as well as Instagram. The cookies feature 16 embossments of Super Mario characters and in-game power-ups. The online component encourages consumers to submit a video of themselves stacking as many of the cookies as possible on the rim of a glass of milk in order to defeat the game’s villain, Bowser.

“Oreo loves to create new ways for our fans to stay playful and we're proud to announce our partnership with the iconic Super Mario franchise,” said Lexie Lubov, associate brand manager for Oreo. “The similar fandom between Oreo and Super Mario made this cookie collaboration a natural fit and we're super excited to bring this new offering to Canadians.”
