Moosehead Breweries debuts new branding
By Derek Winkler
Moosehead Breweries has undertaken a rebranding initiative consisting of new packaging for its Moosehead Lager, Moosehead Light and Moosehead Radler brands. This is the first update to the company’s visual identity in five years. The new branding, which uses a modified version of its existing moose imagery, was developed by Conflict.
To coincide with the new branding, Moosehead has begun a campaign for Moosehead Lager, also developed by Conflict. The campaign, which follows-on from last summer’s “Beer With Your Name On It” campaign, which invites consumers to submit photographs of their achievements on Instagram for a chance to receive a personalized beer can.
“We’re returning to our roots, but with an eye on the future,” said Trevor Grant, vice-president of marketing and sales at Moosehead Breweries. “We focused on bringing back historical elements like typography and the use of our emerald green and premium gold, but with modern sensibilities. You also can’t miss our striking new moose design that’s significantly more prominent on our packaging. We believe this rebrand honours what longtime fans of the brand have loved for decades, while ensuring a strong shelf presence for years to come.”
