Canadian Tire, Petro-Canada join loyalty programs

Canadian Tire and Petro-Canada have formed a loyalty program agreement. Through this agreement, members of Canadian Tire’s Triangle Rewards program and Petro-Canada’s Petro-Points program will be able to receive and redeem loyalty points at each other’s establishments beginning in the fall. In addition, approximately 200 of Canadian Tire Gas+ fuel retailers will be rebranded as Petro-Canada stations over several years. The stations will remain owned by Canadian Tire. Petro-Canada parent company Suncor will also become the primary fuel provider to Canadian Tire’s fuel stations.
“Through this new partnership, Canadian Tire Corporation will expand the reach of our Triangle Rewards program from over 200 gas stations to a network of more than 1,800, driving enhanced value for Canadians at the pumps by providing more opportunities for members to earn CT Money in a high-frequency category,” said Greg Hicks, president and CEO of Canadian Tire. “This is yet another way we're creating valuable relationships through the power of Triangle, which is a key component of our growth strategy.”
