McDonald's readies McHappy Day promotion

McDonald's Canada is preparing to resume an annual fundraising initiative in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities and other local children's charities. The effort will take the form of the release of a collection of branded merchandise developed by clothing company Peace Collective. The collection will be made available for sale on McHappy Day, which will take place on May 10. The line of t-shirts, sweatshirts, hooded sweatchirts, fanny packs, bucket hats and other items feature images of various McDoanld’s characters. The clothing can also be purchased at the Peace Collective store in Toronto. Part of the proceeds from these sales will be donated to RMHC. On McHappy Day, a portion of proceeds from every food and beverage purchase will be donated to RMHC.

“McHappy Day is a special day when Canadians in caring communities from coast to coast to coast join together, raising awareness and essential funding to support families with sick children staying with RMHC across Canada,” said Kate Horton, CEO of RMHC Canada. “We're grateful for the many ways Canadians can support families from their community this McHappy Day, thanks to our founding and forever partner, McDonald's Canada, and this exciting partnership with Peace Collective.”
