Toronto-based outdoor apparel company Canada Goose has released a video promoting its new collaboration with streetwear designer Chris Gibbs of Union LA. The collaboration is part of the company’s association with the National Basketball Association. The video depicts a “Californian-inspired culture and community narrative” featuring singer-songwriter Tierra Whack in various scenes and cultural moments that influenced the new clothing collection. The creative also features poet Kai Isaiah Jamal, musical act Majid Jordan and basketball player Fred VanVleet. Promotion will also include a preview event for Canadian fashion media and influencers at a Toronto Raptors game, as well as a basketball-themed in-store consumer event.
“As a brand, we strive to create products that surprise and excite our consumers, and allow us to reach new audiences,” said Woody Blackford, chief product officer at Canada Goose. “For this collaboration, we worked closely with Union founder and designer Chris Gibbs to capture the spirit of the west coast, together with the performance and functionality of Canada Goose. The result is an Americana-inspired capsule collection with five versatile, functional and stylish pieces, perfect for living in the open no matter where you are.”
