Bell begins Raptors AR promotion

Bell has begun a promotion in association with social media company Snap and the Toronto Raptors basketball team. For four home games beginning Jan. 6, consumers at the Scotiabank Arena with 5G-enabled mobile devices will be able to access a “live entertainment experience” via Snapchat. The augmented reality presentation allows teams of users to compete at shooting baskets. The promotion will run until March 18.
“We're excited to partner with Snap to bring together Bell's 5G network leadership with a world leader in augmented reality,” said Claire Gillies, executive vice-president of marketing at Bell. “With the power of 5G, Snap can offer Snapchatters new, fully immersive fan experiences, starting with live sporting events. This is just another example of our commitment to Canadians and how we're delivering the latest technology and best experience.”
