WestJet releases Christmas Miracle video

Calgary-based airline WestJet has released its annual “Christmas Miracle” video. The video promotes the company’s Miracle Miles program, which allows passengers on some flights to direct a donation of one dollar for each mile flown to an eligible charity or non-profit organization of their choice. The first Miracle Miles trip took place on Nov. 26 from Winnipeg to Calgary. Its 128 passengers travelled 677 nautical miles and collectively donated $90,718 to Canadian charities. The promotion will run until the end of the year.
“At WestJet we are proud to serve a diverse array of communities all year long,” said Angela Avery, executive vice-president at WestJet. “In the holiday season we know there is joy to be found in both giving and receiving, so for this year's ‘Christmas Miracle,’ we wanted to offer our guests and WestJetters the opportunity to give back to the people and places that are most meaningful to them by supporting a charity or non-profit organization of their own choosing. We hope to bring a little extra joy this holiday season through the power of Miracle Miles by giving guests and WestJetters the opportunity to support the organizations near and dear to their hearts.”
