Mazda, ParticipAction begin nature promotion
By Adnews Staff
Automaker Mazda Canada has begun a promotion in collaboration with fitness organization ParticipAction that encourages consumers to spend more time in nature. The effort, called the “CX-50 Minute Challenge,” promotes Mazda’s CX-50 sport utility vehicle. It encourages consumers to spend 50 minutes in nature three times per week during August, tracking their activities using the ParticipAction mobile application. Each 50 minutes submitted will give a consumer an entry into a draw for $30,000 in prizes, given weekly and at the end of the promotion.
“As a Japanese company, the well-being that nature brings has a long history,” said David Klan, president and CEO of Mazda Canada. “Shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing, is based on ancient Shinto and Buddhist practices with a belief that immersion in nature is not only good for our souls, but good for our bodies. At Mazda, we couldn't agree more. Our new purpose-built, adventure-seeking CX-50 is a vehicle designed to create harmony with nature, not to conquer it. It belongs in nature, and the CX-50 Minute Challenge reminds us that we belong in nature too.”
