Empire becomes co-owner of Scene+

Grocery store company Empire of Stellarton, NS has become a co-owner of the Scene+ loyalty program, along with Scotiabank and Cineplex. The program has approximately 10 million members and provides tha ability to receive and redeem loyalty points on banking, movies, entertainment, dining, travel, shopping and, in the near future, groceries.
The rollout of the updated program will begin with Empire stores in Atlantic Canada in August and continue in the rest of Canada through early 2023. The Scene+ program will be available in Empire chains including Sobeys, Safeway, Foodland, IGA, FreshCo, Chalo FreshCo, Voilà, Needs, Thrifty Foods, Les Marchés Tradition, Rachelle Bery and Lawtons Drugs. It will also eventually be offered at Empire liquor stores in western Canada.
