Bixi Montreal readies Mural Festival promotion

Bicycle sharing service Bixi Montreal has begun a promotion in collaboration with the Mural Festival. From June 9 to 19, 50 Bixi bicycles will be remade as artworks by five Montreal artists. The effort is also intended to highlight the 50 million trips that have been taken on Bixi bicycles since 2009. Five bicycles will be on display during the festival at the corner of Prince-Arthur and Saint-Laurent Streets. The remaining bicycles will be available to riders around the city for trips proposed by Mural that will highlight local art and culture locations.

“Bixi Montreal is so excited to be participating in this colourful festival by encouraging local talent to share the excitement throughout the city streets,” said Pierre-Luc Marier, integrated marketing and sales manager at Bixi Montreal. “We would like to invite all Montrealers and visitors to come admire the exceptional work of five artists who have transformed 50 of our bikes, an initiative that shows that Bixi has an undeniable place in our hearts for the 14th year in a row.”
