The Vector Institute, a not-for-profit corporation specializing in artificial intelligence, has signed a five-year agreement with Canadian Tire intended to enhance the retailer’s consumer experience. Canadian Tire will use the agreement to “explore the potential of AI-enabled smart solutions to create a differentiated and deeper customer experience in-store and digitally.” The application of AI technology will also be applied to Canadian Tire subsidiaries including SportChek and Mark's, with a focus on personalizing the shopping experience. Vector is funded by the Province of Ontario, the Government of Canada and various industry sponsors.
“We're thinking differently about how best to provide a connected and seamless customer experience,” said Cari Covent, vice-president of enterprise data strategy and insights enablement at Canadian Tire. “Partnering with Vector will help us further enhance the customer experience both digitally and in-store, enabling us to better respond to their preferences and anticipate their needs.”
