The Weather Network, along with its French-language counterpart MétéoMédia, has launched a new service called Travel Planner. The service, which can be acccessed by consumers via computer or mobile application, provides historical weather information for approximately 50 cities in 11 countries. According to the company, the 20 years of data will allow consumers to determine the best time of year to visit various destinations. The service will also include sponsored content from Air Canada and its loyalty program Aeroplan intended to encourage Canadian consumers to travel. The Weather Network is a division of Pelmorex.
“As Canada's most trusted source for weather information, we are continuing to innovate and deliver products that will help Canadians make smarter decisions,” said Sam Sebastian, CEO of Pelmorex. “For Canadians who have been looking forward to the return of travel, this planning tool will help make them as prepared as possible to fully enjoy their adventures.”
