St. Joseph Communications buys Assembly Digital

St. Joseph Communications of Toronto has entered into an agreement to acquire Assembly Digital of Victoria, a company specializing in media technology. The company’s service uses machine learning to optimize advertising placement and perform audience analysis. It was previously a subsidiary of Redbrick. St. Joseph owns media properties including Chatelaine, Toronto Life and Maclean's, among others.

“Assembly and SJC have a shared vision to bring best-in-class technology and user experiences to innovate how people consume content and connect with brands,” said Tony Gagliano, chairman and CEO of St. Joseph Communications. “We're thrilled for Assembly's highly talented team to join SJC and we're confident together we will accomplish important things for the future of digital publishing.”
