Report: Canadian ad spending in 2021

Standard Media Index has released a new report stating that Canadian advertising spending in the third quarter of 2021 surpassed pre-pandemic levels of spending. According to the report, national ad spending in Canada in 2021 exceeded spending in 2019 and 2020. All twelve product category groups tracked by the company saw increased ad spending last year. Categories which achieved the greatest increases include apparel, travel services, wellness products, general business, entertainment and media, technology and financial services. The report goes on to conclude that the Canadian ad market is "no longer in recovery mode."
