Ikea begins Set-The-Tablecloths contest

Furniture retailer Ikea Canada has begun a holiday promotion called “Set-The-Tablecloths.” Developed by Rethink, the promotion features a two limited-edition tablecloths incorporating patterns that indicate where to place dinnerware and food dishes. According to the company, the initiative is intended to highlight the importance of “assembling together” during the holidays. One design is modern in style for a party of eight, while the other is traditional in style for a group of four.
Participants in the chain’s Ikea Family loyalty program can enter a draw at <http://www.ikea.ca/setthetablecloths> until Dec. 12. One hundred winners will receive their choice of tablecloths, while one grand prize winner will also receive a $500 Ikea gift card. The contest element is being managed by Wunderman, while media work is being handled by Carat Canada.
“We know hosting can be stressful,” said Johanna Andren, head of marketing at Ikea Canada. “When we have guests over, we want our homes to shine at their best, and most importantly, be welcoming. The pressure to have a truly special celebration is certainly amplified this year as we plan to reunite with loved ones. To take some stress out of hosting, we’re putting our design expertise to work by simplifying a common element of the festivities for our customers and adding a bit of fun to one the most joyous times of year.”
