Empire releases new Olympic ad

Empire Company, the first official grocer sponsor of the Canadian Olumpic Committee, has released a new online video ad to coincide with the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. The 60-second ad features athletes including Jennifer Abel, Ellie Black, Andre De Grasse, Kylie Masse, Sean McColl and Damian Warner preparing for the games. The ad is part of the company’s ongoing “Feed the Dream” olympic-themed promotion. It will run on vaious digital and social media properties for the duration of the games. The ad was developed by BBDO, with media work by UM, athlete management by XMC and public relations from North Strategic.
“An Olympic-sized dream is not possible without the steadfast support of loved ones or the nutritious food that powers countless hours of training,” said Sandra Sanderson, senior vice-president of marketing at Sobeys, a subsidiary of Empire. “‘Feed The Dream’ and this new spot, ‘Firsts.’ celebrates that emotional and powerful connection between family, food and sport, three things all Canadians can relate to whether at home or competing for gold on the world stage.”
