Virgin Mobile Canada becomes Virgin Plus
Virgin Mobile Canada of Toronto has rebranded as Virgin Plus. According to the company, the new name and identity are intended to reflect the expansion of its services beyond mobile communications. These services also include Internet and application-based television in Ontario and Quebec, as well as its national loyalty program.
“Canadians want more from their service providers, and Virgin Plus is giving it to them,” said Jennifer Posnikoff, head of brand and marketing communications at Virgin Plus. “Virgin Plus reflects the evolution of our brand beyond mobility to encompass mobile Internet and TV all from one provider, plus awesome member benefits and customer service.”
The company is promoting its new brand with a contest promotion. The four-week national contest will be conducted through the Virgin Radio chain of radio stations. From July 19 to August 15, listeners and loyalty program members will have a chance to win weekly prizes, or the grand prize of a five-night trip for two to Virgin Limited Edition’s Mahali Mzuri safari camp in Kenya, valued at $20,000.
