American Express conducts United Way promotion

Credit card company American Express Canada recently conducted a fundraising promotion in support of the United Way. From June 18 to 20, for every dollar consumer spent at an eligible small business using an American Express card, the company donated a dollar to the charity to support its work countering food insecurity in various communities. The promotion was part of American Express’ ongoing “Shop Small” initiative focusing on small businesses.
“Shopping small can have a big impact,” said Kerri-Ann Santaguida, vice-president and general manager of merchant services at American Express Canada. “Over the last year, we've seen Canadians rally behind local businesses like never before and help many of them get through challenging times. Now, we're excited to provide another opportunity for cardmembers to give back. Backing small businesses and supporting communities has long been at the heart of our business, and we encourage all Canadians to join our efforts to help out this weekend.”
