Save Your Skin Foundation conducts campaign
Vancouver-based not-for-profit organization the Save Your Skin Foundation has begun a campaign intended to raise awareness of the importance of sun safety as summer approaches. The campaign, which is timed to coincide with Melanoma and Skin Cancer Awareness Month, features professional hockey player JT Miller of the Vancouver Canucks. It will consist of social media content.
“COVID-19 has highlighted everyone's willingness to take drastic measures to preserve our health,” said Kathy Barnard, founder of the foundation. “Increased preventative efforts and methods of early detection, particularly in the form of public education are needed to reduce skin cancer rates.”
