The Mississauga Food Bank has begun its annual “Spring Food Drive,” sponsored by Scotts Canada. Its intent is to raise $200,000 and 150,000 pounds of food to to distribute to Mississauga residents in need. The initiative this year includes a scavenger hunt component called “Can You Find It?” Consumers can download a list of the group’s most-needed items from the its website at <http://www.themississaugafoodbank.org/scavenger-hunt>, hide them around their house and invite family members to search for them and donate them to the food bank. The promotion will run until April 11.
“This year more than any other year, the Mississauga Food Bank needs your help to continue to feed hungry children, seniors, families and neighbours and make for a brighter tomorrow,” said Meghan Nicholls, CEO of the Mississauga Food Bank. “During the pandemic, we’ve already seen over 7,500 first-time food bank users, and this number continues to grow. Will you give hungry neighbours that renewed sense of hope this spring?”
