KFC conducts slogan promotion
By Adnews Staff
Fast food chain KFC Canada recently conducted a promotion related to its corporate slogan. The brand has temporarily suspended the use of its 64-year-old slogan, “It’s Finger Lickin’ Good” during the COVID-19 pandemic. During this promotion, which ran from March 25 to 26, the company ran a series of Twiter posts depicting KFC ads with slogans borrowed from other well-known brands including Red Bull, L’Oréal Paris, Nike, Scotiabank and Maybelline. The campaign also took place in the UK, the Middle East and Europe. KFC is a subsidiary of Yum Brands.
“Pausing the use of our beloved slogan in Canada was not easy, but it was the right thing to do,” said Katherine Debicki, chief marketing officer at KFC Canada. “We miss it so much, and we miss our fans, too. We can’t wait for things to return to normal and just the thought of a reunion with both our slogan and our fans has us getting all emotional. But for now, we hope the teams at Red Bull, L’Oréal Paris, Nike, Scotiabank and Maybelline didn’t mind that we borrowed their slogans. We promise we’ll give it back.”
