Ubisoft begins two international campaigns

Video game company Ubisoft has begun two new international advertising campaigns. The first, called “The Shooter,” promotes the company’s Rainbow 6 Siege series. It consists of a video that recreates the action of the game, developed by CLM BBDO.

“We wanted to illustrate a real match, with life-size characters who physically resemble those in the game and are similarlly equipped, and with an identical reproduction of its map,” said Benjamin Dessagne,  a creative director at the agency. “That was fundamental, because the R6 community won’t tolerate ‘almost.'”

The second initiative, called “The Mountain,” promotes a new game called Immortals Fenyx Rising. Also developed by CLM BBDO, the campaign consists of a video depicting adventures in a setting of Greek mythology. Media work for both campaigns is being conducted by Proximity BBDO.

“Your character gets an increasingly exhilerating feeling of omnipotence with each monster’s defeat,” said Stephane Santana, also a creative director at CLM BBDO, “Each victory makes you stronger, and hence shapes your legend. That’s the particularity of the game we focused on when we set out to build the idea of this film on and its narrative arc.”
