FedEx begins Shipathon campaign

Delivery company FedEx has begun a promotion called “Shipathon” to encourage consumers to ship their holiday season packages early. According to the company, the national, bi-lingual effort is intended to raise awareness of the increased strain on the shipping industry as more consumers shop online during the COVID-19 pandemic. The campaign also promotes the use of services like FedEx Delivery Manager to redirect parcels to secure retail pick-up locations or to provide special instructions for at-home deliveries. The campaign includes social media content, online video, online display and audio ads, as well as television commercials.

FedEx is also preparing a national promotion for sold-over-counter shipments at office supply chain Staples. This element will run from Nov. 16 to Dec. 21. This will consist of paid social media content and a draw for a $1,000 Staples gift card.
