ParticipAction promotes adult movement guidelines

Physical fitness organization ParticipAction has begun a new initiative that consists of a set of 24-hour movement guidelines for adults. According to the organization, these guidelines are the first of their kind in Canada. They were developed in collaboration with the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology, the Public Health Agency of Canada, Queen’s University and a group of researchers. The guidelines offer advice on what a healthy 24 hours should look like for Canadian adults between the ages of 18 and 64, as well as those over 65 years of age. The recommendations cover various types of physical activity, as well as guidance on sedentary and sleep behaviours.
