Ikea begins back-to-school campaign

Furniture retailer Ikea Canada has begun a social media promotion timed to coincide with the back-to-school season. The effort, which is taking place on Pinterest, is aimed primarily at students moving into dorm rooms or setting up study areas at home. It makes use of an online quiz intended to determine a consumers priorities and needs. According to the company, this promotion is the first of its kind to take place on Pinterest in Canada.
“This new Pinterest experience combines Ikea’s life at home expertise with Pinterest’s shopping power to take the guesswork out back-to-school shopping,” said Santiago Arbelaez, head of integrated media at Ikea Canada. “Through this personalized digital experience, we can make it easy, fun and inspiring for both parents and students to shop for all the essentials they need.”
