Explorers' Edge begins Cottage Country Spirit promotion
By Adnews Staff
Explorers’ Edge, a regional tourism organization based in Bracebridge, ON, has begun a new promotion called “Cottage Country Spirit” that encourages residents to patronize local tourism attractions during the COVID-19 pandemic. The organization will provide permanent and seasonal residents of the area with vouchers worth $50 to spend at approximately 150 participating accommodations, attractions, restaurants, shops and events. The campaign includes a website at <http://www.explorersedge.ca/cottagecountryspirit>. The effort will run until Oct. 12 in regions including Algonquin Park, the Almaguin Highlands, Port-Loring Restoule, Muskoka, Parry Sound and South Algonquin.
“One thing we know is that, now that we have entered Phase Three of the provincial re-opening strategy, we need both our permanent and seasonal residents to support the local tourism industry, which has been devasted by the impact of COVID-19 closures over the last few months,” said James Murphy, executive director of Explorers’ Edge. “We want folks to show their ‘cottage country spirit’ and support small tourism businesses in this region and their staff on the long road to recovery.”
