SiriusXM readies virtual Just For Laughs festival

Toronto-based satellite radio company SiriusXM Canada has signed an agreement to conduct a virtual edition of the annual Montreal-based Just For Laughs comedy festival. The performances from the event will be exclusively broadcast on SiriusXM from July 20 to 25. Two one-hour specials will air each day on five comedy-themed channels. The broadcaster will also air a selection of performances from past festivals. An in-person edition of the festival is scheduled for the fall, public health restrictions permitting.
“Just For Laughs is the world's premiere comedy festival that we look forward to being a part of every year,” said Jack Vaughn, senior vice-president of comedy programming at SiriusXM. “So while we can't be in Montreal this summer, going to shows, eating poutine way too late, and dodging giant political street puppets, SiriusXM is thrilled to team up with the festival to create the next best thing.”
