Labatt signs-on to POST Promise program

Toronto-based Labatt Breweries of Canada has signed-on as a founding corporate partner of an initiative called the “People Outside Safely Together Promise.” The program is a private sector effort to assist consumers resume using public spaces and workspaces as COVID-19 restrictions begin to ease. The program focuses particularly on restaurants and bars. It encourages businesses to display signs listing five principles minimizing the risk of viral transmission: maintain physical distance, sanitize hands, stay home if unwell, disinfect regularly and practice respiratory etiquette. Labatt will provide resources and marketing support in association with Restaurants Canada to conduct this program in bars and restaurants nationally.
“Restaurants and bars play such a meaningful role in bringing friends and family together and we know how much the industry has been impacted by COVID-19,” said Kyle Norrington, president of Labatt. “We want to do everything we can to help our friends in the restaurant industry bring that occasion back into the lives of Canadians, safely. The ‘POST Promise’ will help instill confidence in customers and employees as Canada begins to reopen.”
