Trust Companies Association of Canada rebrands

The Toronto-based Trust Companies Association of Canada has undertaken a rebranding initiative. The organization will now operate as the Banks and Trust Companies Association. According to the association, the new name is intended to better reflect the expanded scope of its operations and plans for the future. The rebranding will also include a new logo and website. The not-for-profit association represents 26 Canadian banks and trust companies and works to foster “sound and equitable principles in the conduct of all segments of the financial industry.”
“While our history lies markedly as an organization representing Canadian trust companies, the distinction between the services offered by a trust company and a bank have become less defined over the past 30 years,” said Andrew Moor, chairman of the board of the association. “As such it is important to have an organization that both represents, and identifies as representing, both banks and trust companies.”
