Quebec video games event goes virtual

A group of Quebec-based video game companies are preparing a promotional initiative called “The Virtual Caravan.” Participants include Ubisoft, La Guilde du jeu vidéo du Québec and Québec Epix, with support from the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal and the Government of Quebec. The online event will take place from June 16 to July 10 and is intended to promote the province’s independent video game industry. This will be the third time the event has been held, with the virtual edition taking the place of the previous physical trade shows due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event will focus on training, networking, succession planning and raising public awareness.
“Now more than ever, our industry needs to stick together and help each other to keep up the momentum,” said Francis Baillet, vice-president of corporate affairs at Ubisoft. “Congratulations to La Guilde, Epix and the partners who were able to reinvent the concept of La Caravane and enable Canadian entrepreneurs to perfect their approach with publishers and international investors.”
