Assaulted Women's Helpline releases online video

The Toronto-based Assaulted Women’s Helpline has released an online video focused on the issue of women in need of emergency shelter during the COVID-19 pandemic. Developed pro-bono by Giants & Gentlemen, it depicts the sound of an incident of domestic violence occurring behind a closed door, accompanied by copy stating that calls to the help line have increased by 400% during the pandemic.
“The work AWHL does has always been essential,” said Alanna Nathanson, chief creative officer at the agency. “But when we saw that startling statistic, we knew we needed to create something powerful to help raise awareness for AWHL during this time, both to encourage donations and let abused women know who to call if they need help.”
